Angel Island Mystery ToursTake a short hike and explore “The Mysteries of Angel Island” with retired U. C. Berkeley professor Alan Miller. He will lead the tours and cover some of the important historical and ecological events in the Island’s history:
You can reserve a tour by calling the Angel Island Association at 435-3522. See the Events calendar at AngelIsland.org for scheduled dates during May-October. Special group arrangements can also be made during the off-season. Tours require advance reservations to ensure adequate interest and may be cancelled if there are fewer than 12 enrolled by the Tuesday before the scheduled date. Groups of 15 or more may also request alternative dates. Groups from San Francisco and Tiburon should meet at approximately 10:30 outside the gift shop (or as soon as the morning ferry arrives) near the Angel Island dock. Tours will normally cover 2.5 miles and will last about two hours. “Around the Island” hikes can also be scheduled. Participants should bring a lunch and wear comfortable shoes. School groups from 4th -12th grades are welcome.
